I am partway through month 7 of the ‘draw the same thing every day for a year’ challenge. I’m starting to consider what I will be doing next year for this. It has created a new habit. Being forced to sit down for a minimum of 3 mins a day to do my drawing – and sometimes that’s all it is – still forces at least a firing of the brain creative juices, and I usually ‘get the horse out of the way’ and go onto doing something else creative.
I have been doing site maintenance: removing useless blog posts and now going through and trying to associate media with posts, to get rid of unused photos (in WordPress, “unused” does not mean “unattached”, so I am attaching manually. Got 2000 media items to either delete or attach left, go me). I have not, therefore, felt like posting much as i have been churning through cleaning up. Hence this late post because I don’t even know which month is which – I have dates on the pictures but it all seemed a bit like too much work to sort it out.
I started giving my horses human clothes and postures in this time. Took some care with some of them. Coloured some in. Usually based on the thing that I was either doing or watching the day before. My life has been so thrilling in lockdown that these things are things like “i watched a doco on Berlin” – but it’s something I guess.
