I am actively job hunting and it’s a torturous process! Onto other things…
The end of September we went to the Royal Melbourne Show, actually decided to go to it during the Grand Final, which I have no interest in. Which meant that it was only really busy, not stupid busy.
My Mum had this for some reason, she got it out because Collingwood decided to lose the final again for some reason.
I don’t like heights but partner convinced me to go on the ferris wheel. This was supposed to be an arty shot of the cages swinging down. I had a panic attack on the wheel. I don’t like heights.
I hadn’t been to the show in years. The last time I went was with someone who was determined to not let anyone have fun by turning up her nose and sneering at everything, and it spoiled it a bit. But this time we saw crafts, arts, food, animals, and stuff. So much stuff.
Even had a go on the virtual reality pods, something I’d not done before. It was really awesome, I went for a trip to Mars and the Moon, I got motion sick and everything. My partner came out of his virtual reality session JUST in time to see his ex wife and the man she cheated on him with, strolling past. The timing was uncanny. He wanted to go back to virtual reality!
Sheep fluff display showing the winners. You were able to pat the sheep. Sheep are greasy. Yes, I’m from the suburbs, why do you ask.
I had fond memories of a giant tray of baby chickens in one of the halls but instead it was a giant petting zoo full of small goats. Which I guess is totally fine.
There was a also a display of the old style showbags…I am old enough to remember this sort of paper show bag. I used to really love the paper that had the show bag listings. I’d sit there and work out what was my best bang for the buck.
Unexpectedly we also made it to the plasticised exhibition that was on at the same time, utterly brilliant. I liked it. Here is a dude holding a complete real skin of another dude.
Biology is disgusting isn’t it.
I paid a lot of money for a show bag with a rainbow coloured Llama in it and a bunch of sugary stuff I have no interest in eating. I have no regrets. The chocolate has gone to better homes and the Llama is my new friend.
So that was pretty cool. It was overcast and expensive and enjoyed it all.
